Reviewer Guidelines for the Synergy: International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies

1. Confidentiality

  • Treat the manuscript as confidential. Do not share or discuss it with anyone except with the journal's editorial team.
  • Do not use any information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.

2. Objectivity and Fairness

  • Provide an unbiased, constructive, and objective assessment of the manuscript.
  • Avoid personal comments or criticisms of the author. Focus on the content and quality of the work.

3. Timeliness

  • Complete the review within the specified time frame (usually 2-4 weeks). If you need more time, inform the editorial team as soon as possible.
  • If you cannot review the manuscript, notify the editorial team promptly so that they can find an alternative reviewer.

4. Ethical Standards

  • Report any ethical concerns, such as suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or fraudulent data, to the editorial team immediately.
  • Ensure that your review is free from any conflicts of interest, such as personal, financial, or professional relationships with the authors or related to the work under review.

5. Review Content

  • Introduction: Assess if the introduction clearly states the research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
  • Literature Review: Evaluate whether the literature review is comprehensive and relevant to the research problem.
  • Methodology: Examine the research design, methods, and procedures for appropriateness and rigor. Suggest improvements if necessary.
  • Results: Review the clarity and accuracy of the presentation of results. Check if tables and figures are used effectively.
  • Discussion and Conclusion: Assess whether the discussion is well-organized and relates the results to existing research. Ensure the conclusions are supported by the data presented.
  • References: Check if references are up-to-date and relevant. Verify that the citation style conforms to the journal's guidelines (APA, MLA, Chicago).

6. Feedback and Recommendations

  • Provide detailed comments and suggestions to help the author improve the manuscript. Highlight both strengths and areas needing improvement.
  • Make clear recommendations to the editorial team regarding the manuscript's suitability for publication:
    • Accept without revision
    • Minor revisions
    • Major revisions
    • Reject

7. Constructive Criticism

  • Focus on providing feedback that is actionable and can help the author enhance the quality of their manuscript.
  • Be respectful and courteous in your comments, even when suggesting significant revisions or rejection.

8. Anonymity

  • Conduct a double-blind review process to ensure that neither the reviewer nor the author is aware of each other's identities.

9. Detailed Report

  • Submit a detailed review report, including:
    • Summary of the manuscript
    • Evaluation of each section (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion)
    • Specific comments on originality, clarity, methodology, and relevance
    • Final recommendation

10. Post-Review

  • Be available to respond to any follow-up questions from the editorial team regarding your review.
  • Be prepared to review revised versions of the manuscript if requested by the editorial team.
